With Friends of Northwood Cemetery

It was a chilly, but mainly dry day, and while we were there a steady stream of visitors came to see the beautifully restored East Chapel. It is a credit to the dedication and hard work of the Friends of Northwood Cemetery that a dilapidated building in danger of demolition has been restored and brought back to life. It looks wonderful with its new floor, re-plastered walls inside, repointing on the outside and beautiful new stained glass windows. Well done to all involved it is a fantastic achievement and you have much to be proud of.
We enjoyed a hot drink, some lovely home-made cake and a chat with the Friends of Northwood cemetery and then we ventured out for a walk in the impressive cemetery grounds.
If you are interested in cemeteries and quiet green spaces we thoroughly recommend a visit to Northwood Cemetery. It is full of fantastic history and has a wonderful nature area. If you are lucky you may even get to see some rare fungi and butterflies. You will definitely enjoy a walk through the impressive grounds.
